The movie "Two Lovers" is an intelligent, modern-day romantic drama about Leonard (Joaquin Phoenix), an aspiring photographer who, coming off a tragic end to an engagement, meets two women in quick succession: Michelle (Gwyneth Paltrow), his gorgeous yet volatile neighbor who is also having an affair with a married man; and Sandra (Vinessa Shaw), the pretty family friend his mother (Isabella Rossellini) would love to see him end up with. As Michelle begins to fall for Leonard and he begins to find unseen depths in Sandra, Leonard is forced to make an impossible decision.
